Well ive checked with my internet provider and there are no such firewalls in place, and yet it works in OS9 but when it comes to there OSX version it aint connecting and looking around on this site i aint the only one, how can so many people be wrong? |
Even a DSL- or Cable modem, if it is not configured properly, might keep you from connecting to LimeWire. Check your internet configuration. |
I'm behind a HTTP proxy and it seems to work fine with WinMX, Bitorent, Kazaa etc. Unfortunately no such luck with Limewire. (Your own faq says you don't support HTTP / Socks proxies --> http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/faqs#fir1 ) Will you be supporting this in the future? |
I sent a patch for that but I'm not sure if it's going to make its way into the official distribution. |
Where can you get it from? |
You would need to compile LimeWire yourself. Simply download and install the latest JDK from http://java.sun.com and ANT from http://ant.apache.org . Then go to http://www.limewire.org and checkout the latest LimeWire sources from cvs (instructions can be found on the website). To compile LimeWire all you have to do is execute the supplied compile scripts named "compile" or "compile.bat". Once you've done that, send me an email: gregorio@gmx.li I can send you the patch. |
