LimeWire pro support was not able to help me at all so I'm hoping one of the java Limewire programmers will help...

Here are a couple things you can try - easiest first.

If you have IE or Netscape running close them and try again. If that works go to control panel, double click the Java icon, select the browser tab and uncheck IE and Netscape.

If that didn't work, uninstall Java from the add / remove programs in Control Panel. Connect to the internet, start Limewire. It will advise you must have Java to operate and offer a link to download. Do as suggested and see if that corrects the issue. If not uninstall and reinstall Limewire.

Good Luck

Norm,

I have an IMac so the info is abit different for me but I think you're saying to pretty much disable the Java stuff in my browser and make sure they're not running when I try out limewire?
If so then this is not a fix. I've had java disabled in my browser since before installing LimeWire and I've made sure it's the only thing running after a reboot and I still get this msg.

I'll have to try the uninstall of java, I upgraded to the latest after I started having problems.

just wondering if this a fix for the specific exception msg or just a suggestion for most java problems?

I'm a java programmer so if you want to get technical that's fine with me...

thanks
Koichi

Koichi,

I have had issues with the latest versions of Java and Limewire 2.6.3, 2.6.5 and now the beta 2.7.

I think it might be worth trying an older version of Java. I am using 1.3.1_04.
