I am sure this is an easy one so before anyone wonders how a user can be so "uninformed" take into consideration that I am admiting that I am a complete idot when it comes to this :-) --
Ok - I was using limewire just fine until i upgraded the other day. After the upgrade I could not connect. I uninstall the software and then download it and reinstall. I still cannot connect. NOw, i seem to remember having to type in an address of a host when i initially installed the software last year. I did not do this when i upgraded or during the reinstall. I searched the manual and post for an address to connect or how to connect and did not see anything. This is most likely because i don't know how to recognize the answer since I don't know what i am doing. Basically, I go under file and highlight connect. The search briefly goes black and then it fades again. I see no connections under the monitor tab. It also does not show that the system is tying to connect. THe only number is the 6346 in a small white box at the bottom of the monitor screen. Other factors that may play into the problem are, I am using windows xp and go through a router and have a firewall. None of thes made a difference prior to the upgrade, but who knows? I already granted teh limewire application access to the internet through the firewall. If anyone has the answer please let this poor uninformed installer know.

well, in my quest for a connection, i downloaded the java j2re_1_4_102 and now can connect. I am getting the waitng for sources error, which i see many others receive as well. If anyone knows any other secrets in response to my initial post let me know. For now, i can connect thanks to the java download-
