again: has anything changed with your configuration before you started having the problems (new hardware/software/provider)?
how exactly dows limewire fail to connect? does it just fail to connect to hosts (lots of 'connecting' or 'handshaking' in the 'conntections' tab) or does it not find any hosts at all (nothing in the 'connections' tab) |

sometimes, it may take limewire quite a while to establish a good connection.
also, limewire is reluctant to accept connections to non-limewire hosts, so if you happen to bump into a lot of gnutella clients from other vendors, the handshaking and connecting can take quite a while. i suggest you try to outwait limewire. in my experience, if you use limewire regularly and for longer durations, you should have less problems connecting. |

have done a complete uninstall and then a new reinstall, still will not hold the connection, at least 7or8 trying to make connections and at least 2 trying to down load from me. whats wrong, can it be the cable company blocking the connections.

i guess they can, but considering that you actually have uploads (people trying to download from you), this seems unlikely. do the uploads succeed? they don't have to go to 100% necessary. check your library, in the 'uploads' column. it shows attempted uploads/succesful uploads or the other way round. if you have some succesful uploads, uploading should work ok. note that the number of attempted uploads can be considerably (5x) higher than succesful uploads. i think that's because often you get more requests for a file than you can serve.
however, it seems weird that lw should try to connect and handshake for 30 minutes without finding a good host. i tried to reproduce your problem but limewire just fails to not work ;-). sorry, can't think of anything. |
