Angry No Connection behind ISA server!!!!!

All I can say is YES Im allowing ports TCP 6346 to 6348 outbound and inbound. And YES my connection is up and running correctly. All I can say NO to is my 10 bucks!!

What a crock!!!

If there is any among you who know what the problem is, please let me know.

As much as I would like to help you, it's very hard with the little information you give. Less rants and more information about your system and the nature of your problem would save me lots of work.

I am assuming that limewire fails to connect when you open it?

1) To see whether lw is connecting, check the 'connections' tab (it might be hidden, right click on the tabs to reveal). It it says 'connecting' and 'handshaking' your on good ways, but it might take maybe a minute.

2) If it says nothing in the 'connections' tab, you are not connected. Maybe you unchecked the 'connect on startup' checkbox in the options. Try connecting manually (file/connect).

If all above fails, the issue must be something else. What exactly is your setup?

Also, open up your ports on your software filewall. And some hardware firewalls need the exact computer hardware information mapped from the firewall to the computer of the ports that you're going to open. I.e. the firewall needs to know which computer to send the info regarding ports 6346-48.

'hardware firewall' could also be a router. if your router gives local IPs to your computer(s) (192.168.x.x), make sure the router forwards 6346 to the local IP of the machine you're running lw on.

Unhappy

I have ISA server running between my cable modem and my domain. All clients have the firewall client installed and working. Does LW need to see my external IP?? If so I am blocking any ping or lookup to my external IP.

if you check 'force ip', limewire gets the router/firewall for the external IP. So, yes, you have to allow lw to look it up.

and, you should force IP if you forward 6346, for a whole bunch of reasons.
