![]() When I try and connect the light flashes green for about 1 seconnd then it turns back to red. What's wrong with this thing? Info: LimeWire 3.2.1 Pro Windows Xp ISDN line I don't think I'm behind a firewall, but could it be the proxy that's causing problems? This has also happend with Kazzalite, Morpheus and Bearshare. In my house there are 3 computers, mine hasn't got the direct connection to the ISDN modem.<[]That would be computer A.[] If we ditched the proxy and set up an ICS would Limewire work? |

![]() I love the users who can figure out their own problems! Yes, it's the proxy. LW uses your broadcasting IP address to connect to you. Obviously, if the broadcasted IP address, as in the case of a proxy or a netmask isn't your actual IP address, then you can't connect. To determine this, you can go to whatismyip.com and see if it matches your actual IP. |

![]() That's the tricky part. Limewire will try to connect to your broadcasting IP address. If you're broadcasting a proxy or netmask IP, you won't be able to get incoming connections. Is there a way around this other than changing your broadcasting IP, I really don't know. I'll contact someone more knowledgeable about these things. ![]() You don't have to worry about your IP. It's much more important that you can create outgoing connections to the internet. This is obviously not quite possible at the moment for LimeWire. I suspect your proxy limits your access to the internet to certain ports, for example the ports used for http & ftp. There is no way around it because gnutella clients commonly don't listen on those ports. |

![]() Main point being is that the proxy messes everything up. All the comps in my house run on XP, so if I set up an Internet Sharing Connection, ditching the proxy, would Limewire and all that work? Last edited by Ehjuanaga; August 1st, 2003 at 10:27 AM. |
