Can't connect

First time user with Limewire.
Install newest version but just can't connect
I can see the red button turn green for a second
when I push connect but that's it.
Don't know if that mean anything but I have nothing
when I push connections.
I use win 95 on a Pentium 133
Add to format it last week

Help :(

I have the same problem. After doing some research on the LimeWire website i found that it is actually your ISP blocking you from the Gnutella network. I am still looking for a way around this...Anyone have a suggestion??

hmm

Well now i'm really confused. The night i got Limewire i was evntually able to connect after leaving it open for a long time and just waiting it out. The next day i tried to connect again, and it didnt work. i havent been able to connect at all since....

I tried both Free Wire and Lime Wire...Free Wire worked fine at first then all the sudden i couldnt connect. I un-installed it and installed Lime Wire. Lime Wire never would connect.

...

I don't think its a firewall problem because I shut mine off completely to try to make LimeWire connect and it still didn't. I think the ISP idea is worth a shot to look in to. But honestly, I'm ready to just give up on LimeWire all together... I may as well just buy my music.

SUCCESS!

Yep, I ended up just giving up on the whole Lime Wire deal. I changed over to Kazaa Lite. At first it wouldn't connect but I went to the Kazaa help section and it suggested changing the port number on my firewall to something over 5000 because more than likely my ISP was blocking me from being able to connect to the Gnutella network. Sure enough after changing the port number to 7000 I connected immediately and its been working fine ever since. Im sure if you know how to change your firewall port number with LimeWire, you will be able to get it working.

hmm well...how would i change the port number on my firewall? I'm not sure if that would help me though because it didnt connect when I turned my firewall off completely...

PunkRockScholar August 16th, 2003 09:28 PM

 I dunno. lol. Yeah i didnt know how to change the port number either until i downloaded Kazaa Lite. I HIGHLY recommend it. I haven't had one incomplete download and my spyware killer hasnt found anything.
