Default Bad / few connections

I installed LimeWire a few days ago on my Linux computer, it was 2.7 or 2.8 something, i don't remember at least it was working. Today i downloaded the latest version (3.4.7). The problem is that i cant get enough connections to even search. The connection screen shows about ten hosts that LimeWire tries to connect to, they are constantly changeing. It also shows about four hosts that are connected but the speed is only somwhere around 0.0006 kb isn't that slow?

What is the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Try letting LimeWire run for a few minutes. It takes a little while to get connected particularly on the first run. Subsequent connections will probably be quicker.

Sorry to butt in here aj, but that doesn't quite sound like the problem.

Sounds like this guy was an UP in 2.7 or 2.8 and now is a leaf.

anonymous: You are functioning as a leaf node. They only connect to about four hosts. The "speed" next to them indicates how much bandwith is being used to maintain your connections. The less the better, because that gives you more bandwith to download/upload.

You should note that there is NO DIFFERENCE is being an ultrapeer or a leaf. You don't get more sources, you don't get faster downloads or anything better.
