Cannot connect, tried deleting prefernces. Everything else on my system works-I have Cable access. Can smoeone help?

go to the options in the tool bar click it. you will see shutdown, click on it, after that there will be 3 boxes click the top one to close immidiatly . now when yoe can't gey connected , click the red x in the top right hand corner to close down. then restart limewire by double clicking the green icon box, when it has restarted you be connected, if not retry

p.s. don't forget to click appley after you click the top shutdown box.

I tried this but it didn't work

When i click, file-connect, the light at the bottom flashes green, then goes red...

I tried all these posibilities but still red light that flashes green and then goes back to red...

It would be great if everyone could let me know whether or not this solves their connection issues as well as what Internet Service Provider (ISP) you're using.

i have tried a lot of the suggestions for getting LW to work...i have a mac g4 os 9.1. i have 256 mb of ram. i have downloaded the lastest version of LW.....3.6.14. i've upped the ram on LW, java, aol, netscape, and any other program i can think of. i've deleted and loaded LW 3.6.14 at least five times. i've deleted the .limewire file. i reinstalled java mrj 2.2.5. nothing has solved the problem. can you suggest something different?
