![]() I have continued to receive the following msg: "LimeWire is unable to connect to hosts on the Gnutella network. This is mostly due to firewalls where content/filtering software blocking access to Gnutella (port 6346). Please review your firewall's options to allow LimeWire to access the Gnutella network, or speak to your system administrator or ISP to determine if Gnutella traffic is being filtered." All I could think is that it was due to AOL, because we didn't begin to have the problem until installing the 9.0 version with security features. Is there a way to disable this firewall or fix the settings to enable this port? I spoke to an AOL rep. today, and he said I had two versions on the system: 9.0a and 9.0b He told me to get rid of 9.0a, and that I would not have any more problems supposedly. I'm thinking this is the problem, but there could be another solution. If you have received this msg and happen to know, pls contact me at customdesignland@aol.com. Also, is there a way to set up LimeWire to use another port that may also fix this problem? In addition, I have a Windows XP firewall, and there's no disconnecting that, because, for some reason, I cannot get it to activate anyway. Plus, the only other firewall I have is through Norton, and we right-click and disable Norton when we are on LimeWire -- which, although not the safest bet, is the best way to fix the problem for that area. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks. Last edited by Ralph D'agostino; December 30th, 2004 at 08:07 PM. |
