Unhappy I Tried Everything

I tried everything in all forums and I am still getting disconnected shortly after connecting. Not just limewire, but my entire Internet connection is dropped and the only way to fix it is to reboot. I am using the following equip.

MSI MB with 2000+ AMD
Integrated LAN
512 DDR RAM
Connecting via Time Warner Roadrunner Cable High Speed
Bandwidth Place reporting 2.6mb sec

I have Zone Alarm installed and have provided full access.
I am using Norton Antivirus 2004
I am running the free version of AdAware. (no continual protection)

I followed all instructions online including deleting the .limewire after exiting the program and exiting the tray icon. I have unchecked the autoconnect and connect on startup. Even tried reinstalling, redownloading then reinstalling, and doing it all over and over again.

Thought the problem might be integrated LAN so I disabled it and put in a D-Link DFE-530TX+, same problem.

I then called my provider to find that nothing on my account was disabled and that they wore blocking nothing.

What Next? I really wasted $18 if no one can fix this.

Default Re: I Tried Everything

I am having exactly the same problem and have tried almost everything too! I have:

Asus MB with Intel Pentium 4 - 3GHz
1GB DDR RAM
Integrated Intel LAN
Netgear ADSL Modem
Belkin 54g Wireless Router
Connected by BT Broadband - ADSL @ 512kbps

I have StopZilla! installed and I am currently running Windows Service Pack 2 Beta/RC2(a legal copy as I am a registered tester!)
I am also running Norton SystemWorks 2003 and Norton Antivirus 2005 Beta (again legal copy!)
Finally AdAware Professional is also running

Windows XP Service Pack 2 - this installs the new Internet Firewall which I am also currently using. I have added the LimeWire port to this and all is ok with that.

I have tried everything from reinstalling it, to downloading the latest version, to restarting, disabling firewalls, enabling ports disabling all above mentioned software and even hard-booting my modem and router.

Nothing seems to work. LimeWire SOMETIMES connects and displays "Poor" or "Good" but then goes back to "Connecting". I have noticed that sometimes after a reboot if you go straight into LW and dont load ANYTHING else it works for a while. Also as soon as you load a new Internet browser window it cuts the connection.

I dont think its anything to do with the Firewalls as the connection isnt working with or without them on.

Really stuck...can anyone help?!!

Thanks,
JameZ

Weird. Have you tried connecting your computer directlly to the modem to know if it could be a router problem?

Bonne chance

Unhappy

I am using no router. I am directly connected to the RCA Cable Modem.

Can you try changing port from 6346 to another like 20000 in options-advanced-port? Apply and restart LW. Maybe your ISP is blocking the port 6346.

Bonne chance

Question Port Change Didn't Work For Me

Changing the port had little or no effect that I noticed. It stayed active for about 15 minutes, then the same result.

This might work, update the drivers of your ethernet card, it seems to be where there is a problem. (can you tell us the model and company of the card?)

Bonne chance

I think I am in the same boat as you are. I have tried everything that has been suggested to get limewire to work. I think I wasted or purchased $ 18.00 worth of experience.
