Default Connection Problems...

Hey everyone... I know.. flame me about starting another topic about the connection problems that everyone is having with limewire... anyway....

I have limewire beta that was just released sence I thought I would help out and beta test... anyway..

I install the program, upgraded my java, and started it. It trys to connect after I have clicked connect and it doesnt. I have changed the port it uses, and that doesnt work. I changed it several times also. My ISP doesnt block any ports so I know they all work.

I tried the suggested things here in these forums, by deleted the .limewire folder, tried the .jar file that was posted, and may other solutions.

I dont have nortan or any blocking firewall other then my router. I edited the router table to forward the port to my computer so I could connect. (I know what Im doing so I know I didnt mess up with that)

I tried that with other ports as well... Still nothing...

I can connect every once in a while to 1 connection with a poor status. And if I close the program and start it again and click connect, I cant connect...

No clue whats going on with this.. but I think it is a software problem and not the peopls computers.

I have used: WinMX, BearShare, Kazaa, Kazaalite, and a few other downloaders such as: Bittorrent, and a few others and they all worked perfectly fine...

Whats going on??

EDIT** After messing with Limewire, I have noticed that 1 network works and I get a poor connection, still not all the time though. I think its the connection with limewire though. Watching the connections tryin to connect they flicker from Connecting... to Outgoing like they are actually connected, but then disappear...

I think that its a problem with the program and not the users computer... not sure though.

Maybe you wanna try going to Tools-Options and telling LW to connect on startup. I think LW is set by default like this and I leave it like that since I haven't had much luck with the Connect button myself (the few times I used it of course)

Ive gotten it to connect fine now, its just the problem of my screen going nuts now when I open limewire. The screen turns black, blue, and white with blue lines everywhere and it stays like that till I close Limewire, refresh my desktop and move my start bar over and back to its original place. I tried deleting java and reinstalling the lastest version and that had no effect. I also tried the new exe that was posted and that didnt help either.

I dunno whats going on with that though...

try to uninstal Limewire,
delete the limewire folder,
search for limewire and delete what you think belongs to limewire,
and finally downloading the latest version of limewire and instal it again.
you might also want to get an anti virus or run a scan sorry if you've already done this and I missed the part where you said this.
