Can't connect with Version 1.6b

Saturday, July 28 I successfully downloaded and set up version 1.6b (after uninstalling the older version). The set up placed an icon on my desktop which when activated loaded the program in the same manner as the old version. The files shared are properly shown as 803 and the library reflects those files. The problem is that the program won't connect regardless of what I do. I've left it open for an hour or more - no results. I've clicked the connect button - no results. I've exited and opened the program several times throughout the day - no results. I even
uinstalled 1.6b and downloaded a new file - no results.

I'm running a Dell 800 mhz machine, Windows ME with a Bellsouth DSL connection. While I have Zone Alarm installed on my computer, it is not loaded. There are no other firewalls installed. It is not a problem with my internet connection. For several hours prior to downloading 1.6b, I had been successfully downloading mp3 files on the old version. There have been no changes in my system since dowloading version 1.6b. I've also removed all spy ware from my computer (that was mentioned in an earlier post).

One additional piece of information. I also tried two additional Gnutella clients (including Bear Share) and was not able to connect successfully to those.

I'm frustrated - I want my limewire back!!!
