I've tried everything and I still cannot connect. Hey guys. I just installed Limewire 4.0.8 on my windows xp sp1 system and it refuses to connect. I am also using a cable internet connection. I used a method I saw in one of the threads about going into the bug report in options and I found that the "received incoming this message" is false. So, I know that there must be some kind of firewall problem here. I am fairly certain that there is no firewall on this computer other than the windows xp one. So, I went about the steps on the Microsoft website, and on the Limewire website, and in this forum about going into network connections, then settings for the firewall, adding the two Gnutella things and adresses and ports, etc. I did all this twice, following the directions perfectly, but each time it still refused to connect. I tried closing and reopening Limewire and even restarting the computer, but the program is obdurate in its decision to not be fuctional. I also tried that fix in the sticky thread but still to no avail. I've got nothing else to do and I'm on the verge of returning back to the dreaded Kazaa with my tail between my legs. Help! |
