Default Internet Disconnect

Each time I bring up Limewire and get connected, my internet connection breaks off. This only happens when Limewire is running and a download is coming, never happens any other time. What can I do, it is driving me crazy!!!

Your Internet connection? You mean that you cannot browse the net but that LW can dld/upload fine, or that the "entire" connection goes down?

I have been having the same problem lately. The connection breaks altogether. I have been badgering my broadband provider but it only happens when limewire is connected.
I am running XP pro, realtek ethernet and 768mb ram

Thanks for the interest but my ISP has just owned up to the fault,
and I seem to have normal service again. But while we are on the subject, what are your veiws on sp2? I built my machine myself and I had a bad time when trying to install sp1. Are there the same probs with sp2?

Well, if you read my signature you'll see that I use a Mac, but from what I read in these forums, SP2 creates many connection problems. It establishes "default" settings without any warning whatsoever. Hmmm. Read around. Search for SP2 and see how many results come up.
