I've just installed the new windows XP service pack and since then have not been able to connect. I keep getting a firewall problem box popping up after a while. I've followed the instructions on the limewire support page and the windows page on firewall problems. I've even installed the newest edition of limewire but nothing has helped. Please Help

There's been several threads written already about xp wsp2 & the problems it causes such as changing a lot of the settings. Here's a few links for a start: bug fix (which works for some but not for others), warning to sp2 users , & also one way of over coming problem , & plus a general xp sp2 suggestion page , & connection probs listed by Ursula & this one sort of applies http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...778&perpage=15 A bit of hopping, skipping & jumping. Hope one of these suggestions solves your probs. Whatever happened to skippy?

Great post zap, advice for others if helpful is genuinely accomodated. I suppose we can xcuse you for repeating yourself here! That's quite an unselfish attitude of yours; well done! m$ is a pain & you've shown at least one leg out of the quicksand. HOpefully it'll drag every body out of that 'muck'!
But last gulp as one is about to disappear under the carpet of sand, it might work for some but not necessarily for all. Keep that in mind! That's usually the norm! Last edited by Lord of the Rings; September 23rd, 2004 at 08:52 PM. |
