No, as per my other post, the Windows firewall is completely disabled - surely it is not necessary to configure the fire wall if it is disabled? Something else in Windows SP2 is affecting Limewire.

Are you referring to Zap?

Of course that is the reason why so many users have problems. Did you install the patch which Zap suggested?

Well, well, well. I posted that earlier from work, and when I got home I tried the patch. And you know what? It bloody well works old chap!!!

Zap I modified your post a little, I hope you aren´t angry with me. Its seems that the users have to patch first.

Can I just throw in that the reason there maybe some confusion around at the mo, is because different people use File sharing in different ways. If your'e the kind of person that has only one track you search for and download at a time, then maybe you won't encounter the "number of open connections" problem, but may run into the SP2 fire wall problem. If, like me, you have the Windows firewall disabled - but had 75 "short films" in your download view when you upgraded to SP2, then you may get stung as each download clambers for half a connection, and you get none. Just guessing.

Hello
I have also installed the patch now - used 2.12 english version.

Did not removed Limeware , but I entered all ports and the needed IP-adress once more (overwriting).

I now got turbo in less that 30 seconds.

Thanks to all - hope there are not that many disadvantages

I'm gonna do it, but since as somebody here said, I'm just a simple user who wants to download some files I can't find anywhere else. So, I have now the "CLUF" window in my screen and just would like a simple step-by-step explanation if I can't get Lime work, could anybody including Zap do this for the ones who our native language isn't english and who don't know a lot about ports and TCP, etc.?

I loved this idea of the screenshot, I think it will be useful for me if somebody can put a simple step-by-step explanation with a screenshot on each one...

Thank u! :) I still believe Limewire rocks since I started using it back in 2001...

Help Zap!! xp sp2 connection

ZAP - On a previous post you showed a screen shot of your firewall settings and editing a port. Could you show another screen shot of javaw opened and Limewire: The most advanced file sharing on the planet. OR COULD ANYONE SHOW THIS FOR ME!!!! I don't know what to use for a port number or check tcp or udp!!!! I think this may be my problem!
Thanks a million!!!
