I think you've got your figures incorrect. Everytime a new version comes out, there's always people who are having difficulties.

Tell us what OS version you use, what firewalls, modem brand name & model number & where you're connecting from (home, school, work, etc.)?

My I recommend you update your Java up to Java 1.5 (take the JRE) & if you're still having problems to post back here with answers to ALL the questions I asked you.

OS means Operating System. Let's start from there. Oh but also please have a close look at your modem. What is the brand name & model number on there?

yup, xp is your os.... what exactly do you mean, or see that lets you know people arent connecting?
also look in limewire's options, theres a part in the left column called Bug Report- click on that
Then click the button alled View Example.
In the window that comes up scroll down (about halfway or so) to a part that says "Received incoming this session=" and let us know if it says TRUE or FALSE after the =.

Well I've found out one piece of news here: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum...?t=181659&p=-1 that your modem has no NAT/port forwarding ability. Just to make it easier for you: Bug Report instructions & sample image (click on link) If your result is False, then you probably haven't configured your Firewall properly to allow Limewire (LW) full access. Check your XP firewall (& any other firewall you may have) HERE (Firewall configuration for LW)

If your result is True, then we'll need to rethink the cause of your problem.
1. Did you update your Java?
2. Have you tried deleting your LW Preferences folder found here: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire And delete the folder called .limewire
Before you do this make a note of your LW settings, b/c once you delete your preferences you'll need to reset them.
