Unhappy why wont it....

search? i've been fairly happy with Limewire for a while until one day when all of my downloads became permenantly queued and would not download at all no matter how long i left them.

so i tried re-downloading and installing Limewire and now it seems whenever i enter a new search the info i just entered is cleared and nothing else happens. No results box, nothing.

can anyone help me?

Try trashing your LW preferences folder called .limewire & found here: Windows: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire OR Linux: ~/.limewire OR OS X: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

Also some hints & advice. Don't resume your dwnlds using the Resume function!!! Yes it can be effective for the odd file but! With many files resumed, your files will queue for much, much, much greater lengths of time than normal. And it may also play havoc with LW's connection quality. It is much more effective, healthy for both your dwnlds & for the gnutella network if you manually search for them. More hints for optimising LW: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints.
