I need a password for the administration  I am the admin... I tried my password but that only involved an error message saying wrong password...

I paid for this version, and to say i have to use a slower and older version is outrages!

Thnx for the help anyway.

There's not really much diff b/w version 4.2.5 & 4.2.6 or even 4.2 & ...

But hey, this is just a forum. We are not LW. And we do this for free. The idea of 'trying out' an older version in one way is to help to isolate the problem.

See LW version history here: http://www.limewire.com/english/cont..._history.shtml

Sounds like you're using up too much upld bandwidth & you may also be resuming too many files.

Go to Tools>Options>Speed & tick Disable Ultrapeer capabilities & then press the Apply button.
Then go to Tools>Options>Uplds>Basic & educe the upld bandwidth to at least 80% of maximum & again press the Apply button.

May I suggest you don't use the Resume/Find Sources buttons on too many files. This will result in files queueing for much, much longer. And may also affect LW's connection quality & also make LW slow to use (use too many system resources.) These files are recognised by having statuses of Waiting #s for Sources, ends up as Awaiting Sources.

Best is to wait for LW to settle down before doing anything. Depending on how many incomplete files & shared files you have, wait b/w 10-30 mins. Then do manual searches.

Here's some hints: A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities.
