![]() Hi all, Have browsed through and can't find a *simple* answer to my problems. Like many other users in this forum, I can't connect. Problem description: even after leaving LimeWire up and running for 60 minutes, I still have only one green bar in the "connect" area; hence I am disconnected. I am using MacOS X 10.3.6 from my place of work, connecting through our network cable connection. I am behind a firewall, but I was under the impression that using LimeWire was still possible. I've followed the "Force IP" instructions in my LW pref's, and have followed the instructions on the LW site to ensure that port 6346 is enabled in my System Pref's/Sharing/Firewall area. Any other suggestions? I'm looking for some clear-cut directions as to how to fix this problem. Thanks in advance! Adrienne P.S. I have also tried the suggestion of deleting the LW preferences in the Library, and that did nothing. |

![]() Just a very quick test (partial only) & go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ It should say test page was a success. If you get anything else or can't get to the page then there's problems. Can you give us more details about your network? Sounds like you might be blocked or many ports are blocked. |

![]() (finally getting to this after pre-Christmas madness!) Well, I tried the test page and got the "Your test page was a success!" message. So now what? any ideas? You mentioned more info about my network... what kind of info? BTW - also tried using Limewire at home (only have dial-up, as I live in Qatar, where hi-speed is outrageously expensive) and also had the same problems... even after keeping LW up and running for 60+ minutes. Cheers, Adrienne |
