please help me!! I´m from Germany so sorry for my bad englisch. Well my problem is, when I start limewire, the programm opens a window, and the window says: " Your machine does not appear to have an active connection or a firewall is blocking limewire from accessautomatically ing the Internet. LimeWire will automatically keep trying to connect you to the network unless you select " Disconnect " from the File menu " Well I do not have any firewalls on my machine, so I do not know what is wrong. I use Windows 98, if that is the reason, I will use Windows2k in the future, but i could not imagine that this is the reason. The only thing I am able to remember is that I have had this problem since my girlfriend clicked on 60 Tracks and let LimeWire go on the whole night but I think this is a coincidence isn´t it??? |

1. Delete the LW Preferences folder called .limewire (whilst LW is closed!) & found here: Your .limewire folder is in "C:\My Documents" 2. Update your Java: http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...radejava.shtml 3. If you're still having problems: Can you tell us: (a) Connection type, (b) Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 4. It is not wise to try to connect to too many fils at the same time & also not wise to use the Resume or Find Sources buttons on many files in the one session. This will queue the files for much longer & also affect LW's connection quality. Last edited by Lord of the Rings; January 4th, 2005 at 12:39 PM. |
