![]() Ok, I cant connect with one of my friends, we've been trying for a while and just cant figure it out. First we had the firewall problem, and managed to fix that, but now when I put in their IP address it doesnt work, it still says canot connect to host. So I tried the one limewire gives you. IE: When your friends want to connect to you, they should enter "xx.xx.xxx.xxx:6346" So when I do that it looks like its connecting, but it doesnt show any files. And when it finishes the tab with their IP address dissapears, and the search shows nothing. Same thing happens when they try and connect to me. |

![]() That address is what your friends should use to connect to you! lol ![]() Set up a file of a particular name. Have your friends set up a file with the identical name. Now have your friends search it. After LW has been running for at least 30 mins do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is it True/False? If it's false then there is a firewall blocking somewhere. It could be an internal softw firewall or it could be a nat firewall within your modem or router. Can you give us a total desciption of your set up: 1. OS version? (eg: Win 98/XP. etc.) 2. What firewalls you have? 3. ram? 4. HDD space available? 5. Connection type? (dial up/cable/broadband, etc.) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 8. Which version of LW & Java? Apparently having Chat enabled on both comp's helps with DC: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...177#post119177 & also THIS might bring some more hints. |

![]() I'm very surprised you're using LW 4.2 with only Java 1.3 Might I suggest you update it to: version 1.4.x OR version 1.5 (take the JRE) |
