![]() Well CCSmith What is this service you have paid for? If you knew about the gnutella network you would know that no-one owns it, no-one controls it, there are no guarantees and so no service. What you have bought is specialist software and, as anyone who knows about specialist software, they sometimes require some configuration to work with your particular equipment. Unfortunately, it seems that the more facilities, features and bug fixes added to the Limewire application the more difficult it becomes to configure. And, as such, progressively more people find it difficult to work with their equipment. I guess that at some stage the LW Org may develop a slightly different way to incorporate additional facilities without affecting their current user base but until then ??????? UK Bob |

I, too, have sprint, use lg musiq. (I do not recommend this phone). Data port and AC charging port are the same, meaning that as usb connection , your good as long as battery holds out. (abt 2-3 hrs). Then you have to go offline to charge phone. Have tried bluetooth. here is what I found after 6 months of f***ing around: could not pair w/toshiba-intel setup; moved to hp dongle and broadcom(widcom) stack - that setup was as solid as an agoraphobic stuck in a walmart cashier line - have changed to iogear dongle w/broadcom stack. Works like a charm, bt connection, though slow, is solid, w/very few discos. lately have had same connection problems as others here. cannot use port 6347 - port is unavaliable ??? have a firewall signal on tray, came out of nowhere. also use peer guardian2, (forever), and looking at reports, shows blocks on "limewire" at addresses such as 70.5.224.106 99.201.80.14 68.246.97.127 among others. What is that about?? Never before have I seen this.... oh... latest versions of everything... xp pro sp3, limewire xxx-8 pro, java 1.6.10 (no issues b4), asus laptop, centrino dual, 3g ram, etc. anybody find anything out? |

![]() Hello, I have had limewire for a very long time (Pro) and have had successful connections to the "Turbo-Charged" status after mere seconds until these past two weeks. I thought maybe it was an expired Pro membership, so I upgraded last night and still am unable to connect at home or at work. Here are my stats: Max OsX 10.5.3 (Leopard) - (I have had Leopard for over 6 months and have had successful connections with it.) LimewirePro 4.18.2 Home connection: wireless router/BellSouth DSL Work connection: unknown (but i work at a large hospital so it's got to be something relatively huge and good. I have been able to connect from both home and work.) I have the "Firewall" icon at the bottom left corner and the one bar with "Starting Connection" that just stays stuck there. I've tried testing the ports and when I test 6346 it says closed... I have changed and added so many things in my attempts to figure this out that I just now clicked "Restore defaults" in the Limewire Preferences > Advanced > Firewall settings ![]() Thanks, Paula |
