Thank you for your reply, I will hold off installing SP2 until I am left with very little or no choice. I too use Spybot, Ad-Aware, NIS 2003, MS AntiSpyware and Prevx Home V2 (intrusion and secret installation prevention), I also plan to press gang Peer Guardian into my PCs army. I do believe you are right when you say that a dedicated attacker could get into your (or my) PC but he would have to find a way to target you first. Capturing your ever changing IP address would not be enough. Besides, if you find that your software protection is constantly breached then it would be time to install hardware defences. UK Bob
