![]() another connection issue Computer Type & CPU Gateway PC P4 2.5Ghz Operating Sysytem & sp WinXP SP2 RAM 768 Mb HDD ? Java Version 1.5.0 LimeWire Version 4.4.5 Modem Type & model no. Wireless DSL to ISP Hotspot Using MS MN-510 wireless adaptor Router type & model no. Who is your ISP CoachConnect I also have Norton Antivirus but no 3party firewall program. I am having all the same problems connecting to Limewire. I've tried just about everything I can find. I open my port 6346. I unblocked Limewire in firewall. I called my ISP and they told me they dont block ports. I can eventually connect to Gnutella but I cannot get >1 kbs. After a bit, it sends me back to a waiting list. I used to use P2P quite a bit but PC crashed and I reinstalled everything and now I'm on this new ISP which is DSL speed. Web pages load fine. But Limewire, Morpheus, KAzaa all have the same problem. Connecting or dloading very slow. I tried the www3.limewire.com:6346 site and it won't load. I know my port is open. I did it just like the instruction said. I went to the NAT or not site and I get this: initializing... Your local IP address is 192.***.12 Your global IP address is 148.***.192 It would appear that your machine does use NAT. Your machine has an IP address of 192.***.12, but your browser connected to this page from 148.***.192! You are in the private range: 192.**.0.0 - 192.**.255.255 (192.**/16 prefix) I do my bug report and I get this: -- listing session information -- Current thread: AWT-EventQueue-0 Active Threads: 28 Uptime: 29:30 Is Connected: true Number of Ultrapeer -> Ultrapeer Connections: 0 Number of Ultrapeer -> Leaf Connections: 0 Number of Leaf -> Ultrapeer Connections: 2 Number of Old Connections: 0 Acting as Ultrapeer: false Acting as Shielded Leaf: true Number of Active Uploads: 0 Number of Queued Uploads: 0 Number of Active Managed Downloads: 0 Number of Active HTTP Downloaders: 0 Number of Waiting Downloads: 8 Received incoming this session: false Number of Shared Files: 2 Guess Capable: false Received Solicited UDP: true SIMPP version: 7 Port Stable: false FWT Capable: false Last Reported Port: 62155 External Port: 6348 IP Pongs Received: 46 My conenction status s "Good" Sometimes it is Excellent. Downlaods are <1 kbs or 0. What is causing my slow speed on P2P? Last edited by Lord of the Rings; February 20th, 2005 at 11:49 AM. |

![]() I know something's blocking my port but I'm baffled. I cant even get torrents to work. They use those 688's. I changed listen to 6346. My firewall was already open to 6346 (supposedly). The bug report shows 29 min's up time. I dont know. probably that long. Here's a new bug report: -- listing session information -- Current thread: AWT-EventQueue-0 Active Threads: 32 Uptime: 15:39 Is Connected: true Number of Ultrapeer -> Ultrapeer Connections: 0 Number of Ultrapeer -> Leaf Connections: 0 Number of Leaf -> Ultrapeer Connections: 1 Number of Old Connections: 0 Acting as Ultrapeer: false Acting as Shielded Leaf: true Number of Active Uploads: 0 Number of Queued Uploads: 0 Number of Active Managed Downloads: 1 Number of Active HTTP Downloaders: 0 Number of Waiting Downloads: 3 Received incoming this session: false Number of Shared Files: 2 Guess Capable: false Received Solicited UDP: true SIMPP version: 7 Port Stable: false FWT Capable: false Last Reported Port: 61858 External Port: 6346 IP Pongs Received: 43 I'll tell u some maybe useless info. My wireless hotspot is a colubris networks CN 3000 Of course, it's not mine but I opened its IP https://192.168.1.1/home.asp I thought maybe I needed to port forward from there but it requires user and pass. If so, I'm SOL. |

![]() colubris networks CN 3000 http://www.colubris.com/files/CN3000_ts1_en_NA.pdf That is a specification link for your modem. It looks as though you need to forward a port. You can search (upper right) for --- port forwarding --- or --- ISP blocking ports --- They may give you some insight into what you need to do. |

![]() Go to your LW menu Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & tick UPnP & press Apply. See if this makes any difference. I have to say if your 6346 test was kaotic then that itself doesn't look good! I saw this & just hope it doesn't apply to your isp. If all the above doesn't work are you willing to try an experiment? See: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=32882 & apply Sock 5 under Tools>Options>Advanced>Proxy. I'd like to know whether this makes any difference. I can't find anything on the web about your isp blocking but I found indirect references to filtering. That means I don't know for sure ... just some principles they use that brings me to the possibility. This means you could be the test case for the isp. It's not so hard to do or to change back ... But you may need to make some other small adjustments with other sttings I don't know. Proxy I don't know about. Except from some pm's I've received from the author of the link I gave. You don't have control over the devices. Hopoefully they are UPnP compatible. |
