LimeWire Version

Using MS MN-510 wireless adaptor

Who is your ISP
CoachConnect

I also have Norton Antivirus but no 3party firewall program.

I am having all the same problems connecting to Limewire. I've tried just about everything I can find.

I open my port 6346.
I unblocked Limewire in firewall.
I called my ISP and they told me they dont block ports.

I can eventually connect to Gnutella but I cannot get >1 kbs. After a bit, it sends me back to a waiting list.

I used to use P2P quite a bit but PC crashed and I reinstalled everything and now I'm on this new ISP which is DSL speed. Web pages load fine. But Limewire, Morpheus, KAzaa all have the same problem. Connecting or dloading very slow.

I tried the www3.limewire.com:6346 site and it won't load. I know my port is open. I did it just like the instruction said.
I went to the NAT or not site and I get this:
initializing...
Your local IP address is 192.***.12

Your global IP address is 148.***.192

It would appear that your machine does use NAT.

Your machine has an IP address of 192.***.12,

but your browser connected to this page from 148.***.192!

You are in the private range: 192.**.0.0 - 192.**.255.255 (192.**/16 prefix)

I do my bug report and I get this:
-- listing session information --

Is Connected: true

My conenction status s "Good" Sometimes it is Excellent. Downlaods are <1 kbs or 0.

What is causing my slow speed on P2P?

There a few things in your bug report that seem odd.

1) Number of Leaf -> Ultrapeer Connections: 2 --- That should read at least 3 I thought ---

2) Received incoming this session: false --- Something is blocking the port ---

3) External Port: 6348 --- That I thought should match your firewall port configuration --- quote "I open my port 6346.
I unblocked Limewire in firewall."

You can change your LimeWire listen on port by 1) tools 2) options 3) advanced 4) firewalls -- Listen on port - you change this to 6346 --- click apply then ok. If you don't click apply the changes will not take effect.

Or else configure your Firewalls to allow access to port 6348.

How long had LimeWire been running when you did the bug report?

I know something's blocking my port but I'm baffled. I cant even get torrents to work. They use those 688's.

I changed listen to 6346.

My firewall was already open to 6346 (supposedly).

The bug report shows 29 min's up time. I dont know. probably that long.

Here's a new bug report:

I'll tell u some maybe useless info.

My wireless hotspot is a
colubris networks CN 3000

Of course, it's not mine but I opened its IP https://192.168.1.1/home.asp

I thought maybe I needed to port forward from there but it requires user and pass. If so, I'm SOL.

That is a specification link for your modem.

It looks as though you need to forward a port.

You can search (upper right) for --- port forwarding --- or --- ISP blocking ports --- They may give you some insight into what you need to do.

Go to your LW menu Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & tick UPnP & press Apply. See if this makes any difference.

I have to say if your 6346 test was kaotic then that itself doesn't look good!

I saw this & just hope it doesn't apply to your isp.

If all the above doesn't work are you willing to try an experiment?

See: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=32882 & apply Sock 5 under Tools>Options>Advanced>Proxy. I'd like to know whether this makes any difference. I can't find anything on the web about your isp blocking but I found indirect references to filtering. That means I don't know for sure ... just some principles they use that brings me to the possibility. This means you could be the test case for the isp. It's not so hard to do or to change back ... But you may need to make some other small adjustments with other sttings I don't know. Proxy I don't know about. Except from some pm's I've received from the author of the link I gave.

You don't have control over the devices. Hopoefully they are UPnP compatible.
