I have installed, uninstalled at least 6 times. Still, I click on it & nothing happens. I've gone through all the steps on web site, & still nothing. Help Me.....Please. My son has this program & just loves it.....I'd like to see for myself.

1st try these that apply to your version: Fixes for Limewire Re-install Java AND Delete prefs folder. Reboot after re-installing Java.

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.

I forgot to mention ... make sure all previous versions of LW have been properly removed. If Version prior to 4.4 then use the Add/Remove Programs control panel to remove. If previous version was 4.4 or above then under the start menu>Programs>LW there will be an uninstall option. OR find it in the previous version program folder.

Lord, I just installed LimeWire on a Hewlett-Packard with a dial-up connection (Lord forbid)[no pun intended]. The Java was incorporated in the new 4.8 LimeWire Pro. Made installation easier, but heavens, 45 minutes to install completely and at one point I thought it had frozen, but common sense prevailed & I left it alone. It installed and is running smoothly or as smoothly as can be expected for a 56k modem.
