Limewire was unable to load the Java Runtime Environement
Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, I did have a look but couldn't find anything. For some reason limewire has a launcher error which says:
"Limewire was unable to load the Java Runtime Environement. PLease download and install a newer version from http://www.java.com. Ok, basically I have downloaded all the necessary files. In my add/remove programs list I can see that I have the J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 1 and Update 2 "supposedly" installed and Java 2 Runtime Environment Standard Edition v1.3.1_15 installed. Despite removing anything and everything to do with java on my computer i could not get rid of the Update 1 and Update 2 off my list. Does anybody know what is going on!!! Many thanks.

Hmmm a couple of thoughts come to mind.
1st do you have administrative priviliges for the account you are trying to do this from. 2nd try starting in safe mode and removing them. If succesfull then re-download the newest updated version to your desktop and install from there. Last edited by fabion; April 13th, 2005 at 09:14 AM.
