gnutella connection works - but nothing else

Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network. (not about connecting to files, that is a Download/Upload Problems section issue.) Please supply system details as described in the forum rules.

gnutella connection works - but nothing else

hey there.

i have no problems connecting to limewire/gnutella, yet, another problem has arised.

if i have limewire working (downloading), it is not possible for me to connect to any other new programs/services using a connection to the internet.
programs, however, that were working BEFORE starting limewire and reconnect regularly every 1-5 minutes (such as outlook express, aim etc.) continue to work and connect and don't have any problems.

why is that? is it a port problem? can i fix it? and how?

i appreciate your help
