Angry Connection Problem!!!

I'm havingntrouble connecting to LW. It keeps on saying connecting and won't change!!! I've tried everything in da sticky things and it still wun work!! I used to have dail-up modem is it worked, but now i upgraded it to cable wireless and it dun work ne more!!! ne 1 can help me here?

And also there is an error message when I open LW:
Limewire is unable to connect to hosts on the Gnutella network. This is most often ue to firewalls or content-filtering software blocking access to Gnutella (port 6346). Please review your firewall's options to allow Limewire to access the Gnutella network or speack to your system admimistrator ot ISP to determine if Gnutella traffic is being filtered.

Wat do i do?

Did you sort out your connection problems?
I've been away for some weeks so I didn't see your last post. Let's hope you correctly forwarded the port we discussed in your 1st thread.

Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

If you can't access that page then that means port 6346 is still blocked. That's either due to your router, ISP provider, or firewall I suppose.

dragon389 I have a suspicion your problem is with your modem/router. It may require port forwarding. Likewise for your games.

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.

Lets try port forwarding then. The 1st thing you must do & this is very important for this to work is to set up a static ip.
1. Set up a static ip

2. Forward port 6346 using these instructions: Motorola SBG900 Wireless Router & guides to setting up a static ip are included.

3. Within LW do this: Manual port forward instructions & sample image & 2 posts after that.

After doing this check the port test page again.

Dude I am also having problems connecting, my laptop is almost the same as my desktop but for some reason my wireless laptop connects with no problem and downloads. Then on the other hand my desktop just gives me the connecting messages for all my downloads. I have uninstalled the app and then installed it again because I thought it might be a problem with my downloads and the download.bak file. I even searched exclusively for the particular file because that sometimes jump starts the downloads when they get hung up. I have McAfee version 7 I believe, but I have disabled the Firewall on it.
