Default Connection problem

My limewire won't connect either.

My internet conncection: Pipex 2mb
My router: BT Voyager 2000
My OS: WinXP pro on one pc, Win2k on the other

I have opened port 6346 on my router virtual server, both tcp and udp

Yet when i go to http://www3.limewire.com:6346 the page doesn't work

I have disabled the xp firewall
Allowed limewire to act as a server, access the net etc in zonealarm

I just don't know what to do...
In limewire it just says 'connecting' forever.

You're not going to connect if you can't find a port to access. The problem might be your router which may need to have a port forwarded (opened) to allow LW access. I know you said you opened a port but, you must have a static ip for port forwarding to work. If you don't then you'll need to repeat the process. A static ip is the 1st thing you must set up. This is not the exact same model but you'll find instructions here: http://www.portforward.com/btvoyager/2100.htm (Use port 6346)

Within LW: Manual port forward instructions & sample image & 2 posts after that.

After doing this, use the test page again here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/

Thanks for the help but I still can't get it to work

1. I deleted the virtual server ports I had opened

2. I tried to setup a static IP. I followed the instructions on that page, the current DHCP range was 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254
I changed this to 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254
I then set the IP address in control panel TCP/IP properties to 192.168.1.245 and entered the other numbers as required

3. I then again tried to open ports
My web control panel is slightly different -
The IP address section is under 'Internal Host' instead of asking for an IP address to forward to
And then it asks for IP address
Here I entered 192.168.1.245 opening both TCP and UDP ports
Then saved settings

4. I then in Limewire set it to manual port forward to 6346

Still the test page does not work!

What can I have done wrong?
Perhaps the IP address should be set to 192.168.1.2 instead?

Please help!

Originally I entered the DNS server address as found when running ipconfig in command
this address was 192.168.1.1

Web browsing worked so I assumed this was the correct server

Now I've entered the two server numbers as found on the pipex website:
http://www.pipex.net/support/wireles...nd/generic.php

Web browsing still works but yet Limewire test doesn't work and I can't connect!

Please help me!
