Default Dropout or something?

Right, weird one this and im stumped...
For some reason whenever i load limewire my connection drops, msn disconnects, webpages load half if any, limewire says connected but 0kbps on all downloads?
So i thought, might be limewire doesnt like my system so i tried winmx and ares and bearshare all of which do exactly the same!

Anyone have any bright ideas?
Rob

Well, it could be a router/modem problem. It sounds like your router is losing its communication with your computer. This can happen if the router can't handle the traffic & your computer is too busy. This is also common with USB modems which utilise both power & cpu from the computer. See (scroll down to) 3.4 USB-based modems/routers http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum...es.cfm?t=86201

Can you tell us what brand & model no. of your modem/router? Other details about your comp will also help.

All the details you've told me sound very healthy. Just out of curiousity, do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? If false then it's either your firewall or router that's partially blocking LW.

Might I suggest you don't use the Resume/Find Sources on all your incomplete files after you open LW. A few at a time perhaps, but otherwise it may result in using up too many of your computer's, connection & LW's resources.

Other hints with downlds: See the following link & follow all the off-shoot links to find hints & extra skills for downlding: To continue files downlding (click on link)
