Default Help!!! Please!! Limewire Won"t Load :(

I've been using Limewire 4.8.1 for a few months now. Everything was fine until a hours ago. When I try to start limewire, it loads for a few minutes and then just...disappears. It doesn't even open up all the way. POOF...Gone.

I tried deleting and reloading limewire. Nothing. I checked my firewall and limewire is NOT being blocked.

The only thing that was diffferent today is I ran virus and spy scanners.

I have no idea what has happened!!! Can someone help me??

Thank you so much Grandpa! Changing it so that the compatibility is to Windows 2000 worked! (Which seems kinda odd because I am using Windows XP). Limewire looks different now, I guess I have the Beta version now.

Is there anyway you could tell me what happened so I can prevent this from happening again? Did my spyware or virus scanners cause this problem?

Thanks again!!

Really don't know what happend. But running spyware and virus scanner should not affect it. Do you rember where you got your coppy of LimeWire from. Was it the official site. Also what Virus scanner and spyware protection are you using. I want to download them and do a little testing and see if the same thing happens to me.

I'm using McAfee Virus, which is automatically provided through AOL. And I used AOL's spyblocker.

Maybe the fault was with AOL???

Thanks!

I haven't received any Windows updates...

Turns out I am now using the Java version of Limewire, Java 1.4.2_05, if that helps any. I have no idea what version I used before...

Thanks again!
