I only get a connection once adding connect3.bearshare.net to my list of connections, after this I only get about 30 hosts max and more often than not none....and most of the servers in the conect list say connecting.....

also I might add that the interface of my copy of limewire (1.8b) is quite different to that of the one in the tutorial and doesn't have a few of the options....is this because I am on a mac (wouldn't have thought so as the prog is java...)

I cannot connest

I am not able to connect. The only thing that is different is the way I am connecting. I used to have a cable modem and I never had a problem. Now I connect through AOL and am not able to get a connection. Any ideas?

Mac OS X won't connect

I'm running Mac OS X and I downloaded Limewire 18-c and it won't connect at all. It usually doesn't even make an attempt. I'm connecting through school, so i think I might be behind a firewall, could that be the problem? Whatever it is I hope someone can tell me how to connect. I used limewire before, and when it connected, it was great! so, Help! please. Thnx.

OS 9.2

Me again. It won't connect in the 10 version or the 9.2 version. Is something going on w/ the server I should know about? Please help.

is your ISP blocking port 6346?

I think most of the "can't connect" problems aren't our fault. Our bootstrap server, router.limewire.com, has been running flawlessly for weeks now. Often when someone can't connect, it's because their ISP is blocking outgoing connections to port 6346, the Gnutella default. Try telnetting to router.limewire.com port 6346. If you don't see "GNUTELLA OK", holler at your ISP; there's nothing we can do.

gnutella ok, but still can't connect

I telnetted to router.limewire.com 6346 and i got the "GNUTELLA OK" message. Nevertheless, I haven't been able to connect for a couple weeks. I was using 1.7 and it wasn't working, so I upgraded to 1.8, and it still isn't working. I'm using a mac with sys 8.6. ???

no connection

I have the same problem. I run Mac OS 9.1, and until about two weeks ago Limewire was working fine. When it stopped working I upgraded to 1.8c, and it still doesn't work. When I first open the program it tries to connect and fails, then it won't even try at all. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: no connection

I'm also unable to connect to limewire... I connected fine before the Thanksgiving holidays (to 16) and have been unable to connect since... I dowloaded 18c and not only can I not connect but when I click connect it won't even attempt to establish a connection. Also, were the community tab, the"connect" button, the list of discovered hosts and autoconnect hosts under the connections tab supposed to be missing from the 18c interface?

Thanks for your help and I hope this can be fixed. Limewire is a great program.
