avg. dialup dl speed

i have dial-up.....(YAY!), and was just wondering what the average download speed shud be. it's usually between
5-8kbps/sec. oh, and how come when i try to dl stuff from ppl havn a t3 connection how come the dl speeds spike so much...like going from 8 to 2, then to 5, then 0 the whole time

1. your download speed is going to be roughly around 7-8KB/s
2. people that have lots of uploads active are constantly jumping in speed. your speed can also be affected if you are using the internet at the time your downloading something. (adsl is so much more fun, 350KB/s )
