Thumbs down Setup Wizard after Installation

Can anyone help, ive downloaded the full version of limewire (LimeWireWin-Full.exe) and ive saved it to the default file in programs, then gone in and ran it from its location, it unpacks and installs okay all the way through to the finish window. when you click finish and expect it to open up nothing happens?????
Some of the support stuff ive looked at suggests a start up wizard should then ask for direcory and connection speeds/methods etc but this just stops at this point (ps a shortcut icon appears on my descktop but again nothing when double clicked)

Can anyone help please?

Default LimeWireWin-Full.exe

Chappo

There is something wrong, the limewire.exe file is named Limewirewin.exe (both Pro and Basic), not LimeWireWin-Full.exe.

Where did you get your copy from?

Also, you should not download the unexpanded file to your "Programs" folder, if you look only fully expanded programs should be there.

Sorry Chappo but I am getting the feeling that you got your LW-Full app from a scam site.

Default LW

Chappo

Have you got Java installed on your PC, LW can't run without it.

You will need either Java V1.4 or 1.5 from the Sun web site.

for future reference, LimeWireWin-Full.exe is the full installer provided by limewire if the online installer is not working as it should.

Default LimewireWin-Full.exe (Cont)

Dear Ultracross

Based on your answer to Chappo, which came as a surprise to me, can you enlighten me on the following:

1) As an avid user of LWPro, since May last year, I have always downloaded and installed LimewireWin.exe, not LimewireWin-Full.exe which I have never ever seen.

2) Whenever I install a new version of LWPro I do so while off-line, i.e. disconnected from the Internet. Therefore, if I were using the online installer, as suggested, I would need to be online to complete the installation.

3) Finally, where on the LW website is LW-Full.exe available from?

Please note that I am, like most, going through an educational process and would to understand the different installation methods LW has adopted.

@ ukbobby1
1) they have changed the installation procedure to offload bandwidth and to make updating limewire easier.

2) if you are a LW Pro user, there is no online installer, LW Pro only comes as an offline installer version. the LW Basic online installer (Recommended) needs to be connected to the internet to download the LW post-installer from the network.
