Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

Do you use XP SP2? Did you recently do M$ updates? If yes, it may have changed some of your settings & registry settings. One way to help is apply this patch though it might not completely solve it: http://mitglied.lycos.de/lvllord/download-mirror.htm
SP2 reduces simultaneous connections so this patch will increase them.
