![]() Don't run without a firewall, just configure the firewall to allow LW through. Read through this sticky, it tells you how to configure firewalls. Do the port test & see what result you get. If your router supports UPnP, make sure it's enabled within the router & ticked within LW's tools > options > advanced. Connection problems? Check here first! Read the stuff about NAT firewalls in modems/routers. Does yours have one? What are your details OS(Win XP etc) LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see) Firewall you're using Modem/router brand & model ISP Connection type (DSL etc) Where you connect from (home, school etc) Are you sharing a connection with other computers Is this your first try with LW |

![]() Your router is a piece of hardware. What boxes do you have that are connected to your computer? Have a look around & see what you can find. It might have 'router' written on it or 'modem' or 'modem/router'. It will have LEDs... some will blink & some will just stay lit. |

![]() I think you are using an internal modem. I doubt it has a firewall in it. Have you called your ISP and asked if they block or filter P2P networks. Also are you running any of the new Microsoft Beta security software. Does your ISP supply a firewall with your service. Edit: I did a Internet search of your ISP the page said they supplied one type of protection against viruses. Ask them if this protection is a firewall. ![]() i havent talked to my ISP yet but i will and i will get back to you on that but i dont think it is a firewall because there are rare occasions where my limewire will connect for a few minutes and the firewall icon disappears i dont know if that is revalent to this problem but maybe and i dont think i have any Microsoft Beta security software, i usually dont have anything that is beta. |
