okay, so i think its done.... Limewire is working now! but it said the ip might reset itself after i restart the comp.... |
Okay, I did the setting up static IP and webpages werent coming up so it says that means the numbers are wrong so im going to ring optus. Thanks for your help :) |
Are you from Oz vinylcrocodile....:) |
Yah, In sydney |
Good luck with Optus I hope there better than Bigpond lol.... With the static IP you have to copy down and place the correct numbers exactly were they tell you....;) |
Static ip should remain thus. If you haven't set it up correctly or didn't save your settings, then it isn't a static ip which might be why you received that message. I'm not sure how reliable DLink's UPnP is. My model doesn't have it. :( :D If you're running LW on more than one computer, then you'd need to do a separate port forward for each computer using that same router & using a different port for each one. |
Hi, Im having a really similar problem, I recently got a Router to connect me to the Internet, and Limewire wasnt working, so I decided to see how to fix it. I followed some of the Intructions from this conversation and made it to this Link. http://www.portforward.com/english/r...4/Limewire.htm My Router is a D-Link G-54, but whenever I type in my IP Adress, 192.168.0.1 into my browser it comes up with a Motorola Cable Modem sign-in page. Motorola is the Broadband Modem I'm connected to, but i cant connect to my router, any ideas? (I'm in Sydney, Australia connected to Bigpond via a Motorola Modem if that helps) |
