inoperative desktop icon

I have XP with 1GB ram ,cable connex and Norton antivirus,I have allowed LW thru the Firewall . I have downloaded (and deleted) LW quite a few times;
the problem:
After installation ,when I use the application to get music files, everything works perfectly BUT, when I close the application and try to get back in, the Windows system tells me that the "Limewire.exe icon SHORTCUT is either damaged or missing" ;if I try to get LW thru the Programs ,I get two LW icons ( the regular one and the Uninstall one) but it cannot find the program.
I have installed it in my C: drive and it shows as =Limewire/limewire/exe=
Please help, I can'nt Install & Uninstall forever......thanks

Try deleting the .limewire folder.....Follow the instructions in this thread..

Thanks for your help, it seems to be working now.
I think what did it for me was: right-click on LW icon ,properties,and changed the compatibility to Win2000.
I'll keep testing for a few days, but for now, it's fine... THANKS A MILLION!!! VICLIME

There has been quite a few people that have had to change their compatibility settings latley, hopefully future updates will take care of this...
I'm glad you have it fixed and thanks for saying thanks (we dont get to many of them)...
