ok-so I have windows xp-i also have the windows firewalls. i've done the standard port additions and i have enabled the limewire exceptions and UPnP and P2P. For a while I had all bars in connection and tried to download, but it was always "need more sources" or "busy connection" etc. And there is still a brickwall in front of my globe. And I have deleted the preferences folder. Is there still something I am missing?

You more than likely have a built in Nat firewall in your Modem/Router...
What make and model is your modem...

Well because you are at school it's more than likely they have restricted all types of p2p apps....There is not alot you can do about it either....My only suggestion would be to talk to Admin and see if this is the case...
