![]() Lord, Is there any way i can tell if my isp is blocking limewire ? some kind of a test ? and can i get around it in any way, i'm not to comp. savy when it gets that deep so i thought there might be an easy way to do it. I really need a test done to see if they have it blocked. All my firewalls in xp are turned off and i took my router out of the loop. I use camvera networks isp and have a navini modem. I'ts a wireless service becaise i live in the sticks, lw has worked fine in the past up until a few days ago, thanks |

![]() Try downloading a magnet link from a site: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml If LW won't do it, try another gnutella p2p program. Some other options, you might try FrostWire or Phex to see if you have the same problems. |

![]() I am having the same connection problem. Brickwall wont go away, lw not connecting. Old version worked great. New update is crap. Why are all these people having problems and lw doesnt do anything?!!! In my office, I cant use lw, but 4 feet away, next cubicle, same isp, old version, still works like a charm. Ive done all the support stuff; port forwards, etc. still nothing. I'm sick of Sleepless and others telling people that its their problem, not lw. Lw need to get on the ball and make this work, but apparently they dont care. |

![]() Unless you want to be a free loader (leech), then it would be best to configure the problem so the firewall icon goes away. Otherwise people will struggle to downld from you. What firewalls do you have & what broadband modem/router brand & model do you have? BTW yes it can have 'some' effect on your download speed. ![]() |

![]() Erm 3 possible problems here. WRT54G is probably the worst model Linksys ever brought out. It does not work reliably in UPnP mode. Normally Linksys devices are very good(amongst the very best) but any model with 54 in it is not so good. If you're not computer literate then you don't want to do the to the firmware. Optimum (OOL) is reknown to have problems with p2p sharing. Best bet is to use a high listening number. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & change the listening port to 64049. Press apply & close & re-open LW. ZA firewall. Make sure XP firewall is disabled. Go to the control panel, double click on Windows Firewall, check the disable box. Then configure ZA as described in a link at the very bottom of the page here (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link). Also see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=38788 If still problems, try port forwarding your linksys device. You'll find a link for your model here http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm BTW check out these posts by ELoXL http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=53091 http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=52953 Last edited by Lord of the Rings; October 4th, 2006 at 07:11 PM. |
