Thanks for your help and also the interesting comments on spyware. As I have paid out the one time fee's for these spyware, I may as well use them. When I've run one type of spyware and cleared the bugs out, I have always find something to delete when I run the other type which is the main reason I wanted more than one.

With regard to turning off Norton worm protection, that was only done to confirm whether it was Norton or Limewire problem, I wouldn't run it without and have in fact hidden the Limewire shortcut from the kids to stop them using it whilst I'm sorting the problems out.

When I get home I will re-configure Norton as advised and will report back.

I don't know how good Windows Defender is, but I can tell you that it is a major resource hog. I tried it for a few weeks and after uninstalling it the PC suddenly was twice as fast. This is not exaggerated.

BTW does Norton not give anymore info on what the program trying to access your system is trying to do ?
