This is a bit off the beaten path of connection problems but in a nut shell I'm a limewire addict. The irony is i used to be on dialup and proud to have a turbo chrged connection with a 2k download. Now, I'm on wireless have a router for another computer. Since I went wireless I fell into the same pothole that everyone in the forum is dealing with.I spent 5 hours or more reading all the posts and got one monster education. Took everyones advice to problem solving yet I too had nothing working. My daughter said " dad, maybe it just takes a long time to load". Well, i changed ports played with the firewall..turn it all off did everything in my power to do what everyone said...finally i gave up got tired and left it on. All it had was starting connection... left my computer and KABLAM 2 hours later i came back saw my computer sleeping and woke it up to find a connection status of good and then finally turbo..the other computer stayed at starting a connection for 4 hours ... just checked it and now its at turbo...LW and my router have the same port #'s but for some reason it took it's sweet time hooking up. my listening port is nothing close to 6346 I am using 27600. everything downloads faster than i can brush my teeth...All i can say ...for the obvious and for whatever reason..PATIENTS... thx to my 12 yr old... i have limewire doing its thing.
