Make sure your Linksys is UPnP enabled. We can't help without further details as the forum rules specify which you agreed to when you signed up on the forums. System details - help us to help you (click link)

Just in case, check these 2 links http://www.dslreports.com/reviews/1596

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/cover,1596~days=365

How well is the ISP service running generally?

Now back to LW, go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & change both connection & listening ports to one between 49152 - 65535. Try port 64049. Then close LW & re-open & see if there's any change. What model of Linksys do you have? It might be worth port forwarding. It seems port 6346 is blocked either by UPnP not working properly or by being blocked by the ISP. I know there's one range of Linksys models that don't work well /unreliable in UPnP mode, but all the other models are very good.

Also why do you have a Linksys? Was it provided to you by your ISP? I notice others are using Speedstream.

Default Limewire no longger connecting

Dear user Lord of the Rings or anyone else that is tech saavy:

Below is a list of details about my system and I appreciate greatly any help offered. I have tried uninstalling the latest edition of AVG and reinstalling with no luck. Also I have tried listing LImewire as an exception to windows firewall and in my avg program with no luck. And I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling limewire with no luck.

I did go into the limewire advanced options and change the listening port to 64049, and still no luck. I have read in a post to change the connecting port as well, but I'm not sure how to go about doing so. Also, in the Router Configuration section the UpnP that the program recommends is selected. So here are my system details....

1. Windows Media center xp edition and I am the administrator.
2. Windows firewall and AVG firewall?
3. 1 GB ram?
4. 28.1 gb disk space available.
5. DSL connection.
6. 2Wire 2701HG-B router.
7. Connecting from home.
8. I have the latest version of the free version of LimeWire 4.18.8 and the latest version of Java
9. My ISP is AT&T?
10. The sample test said that my test worked.
11. I am not sharing thhis connection with anyone.
12. I am an experienced limewire user and I have tried everything to fix this.
13. Yes, there is a brick wall in front of the world icon
14. It is uPnP enabled.
15. I am using AVG antivirus 8.0.
16. I line in the U.S. on the West Coast.
17. The only change that has happened was limewire prompting me to update to the 4.18.8 version. The program itself prompted me to do so, that is the only change that has occured.

I will appreciate anyone's help in helping me fix this matter, thank you.

Welcome Darkangel2070.

A few things to try.

Not a good idea to use Two Firewalls as they will conflict with each other and may cause Less protection. Try disabling the Windows Firewall and give Limewire Full access through the AVG Firewall.

Next thing to try is Forewarding a Port for your router. Most importantly is setting up a Static IP First. Instructions are in the Link Below. Hope this Helps.

Port Forwarding for the 2 Wire 2701HG-B
