My Lime Wire Is Stating That I Have Fire Wall Also |
well what do you do? whenever i search for anything it comes up with nothing. i remember when i first installed it it said something about not being fully connected to the network. |
Connection problem , out of nowhere! LW used to work fine up to 1 week ago. I have changed NOTHING! Now, all I see is a firewall. I disabled the 2 that I have -- Norton and Windows, but it still does not connect. What happened? I use Windows XP Professional, with 384 Ram, 8 GB of hard drive space available on the C drive, Broadband, and am working from home, use LW version 4.12.6, and my ISP is xplornet.com. I did the recommended test, and it said "Your test worked". HELP, PLEASE !!!! |
iv realised the probelm is that im only connected to the network with 1 green bar! other peopler have the same problem but they don't seem to have any replies! |
All these geniuses, and no help? Thanks for replying, Harriet. I used to get one or more green bars, but now I just get THE WALL. So, do you mean that you have received NO replies that have helped you to solve this problem? If so, how do we contact LimeWire directly for help; or do we have to go LimeWire Pro before they will talk to us? Are there any other good alternatives to LimeWire? |
OSX firewall configuration: OSX Firewall settings for Tiger If you're using a router or high speed modem, then please answer the questions listed here if you need help: System details - help us to help you (click on link) Otherwise if you think you can sort it out yourself, see tips on modem/router configuration for UPnP or else port forwarding here Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link) Keep in mind that most routers & high speed modems, especially wireless devices have internal NAT firewalls. The way to deal with it is to either enable UPnP if it supports it or reliably supports it. Or else forward a port. BTW if you're connecting from a school/university/college/school residence, then chances are they are externally firewalling you or deliberately blocking p2p programs. Most schools now have this policy in recent years. |
BTW expecting a reply within 5-15 mins on any forum is damned arrogant. We answer most posts faster than most forums. Some forums you don't get responses for days or a couple of weeks & some you're lucky if you get any response. :) And posting a windows connection problem in a mac OSX connection thread is out of context. Off topic in other words. Create a new thread or read the stickies & search the forums as the forum rules demand before posting. ;) :) Not to say we won't help if you post your details in this thread. But we can't help much without details. We are volunteers & are here when we can be. I've personally been busy last couple of days. And just having a look in as it happens. Forum Rules (click here) |
Mea culpa! My Lord: 1) I assure you that I am not arrogant. Nowhere did I state that I expected a reply in 15 mins., or even one day. I was speaking to Harriet, who seemed to have requested the help some time ago (I may be wrong about that). 2) It is my mistake that I posted in the wrong area of the forum. I apologize. The mistake occurred because I am a very new member. 3) Can you help me? No, I'm not using a router or modem. My ISP provides a wireless tower service. No, I am not operating from a school, or any other such place. I'm operating from home, and, I repeat, I have changed NOTHING. LW used to work fine up until a week ago. Thank you in anticipation of receiving your well-needed help. |
Sorry about that. :D Have a look at http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...3&postcount=11 & also see Reconfiguring Norton Firewall Wireless service provider may themselves be firewalling the line. Did this problem happen at the time of going to wireless or long time after? |
