Default Download Speed Drops, Cpu Usage Rises

Hi,

I have a weird Problem and wonder if there is any help for this or if anyone experiences the same thing as I have read all the posts and have not found anything mentioned about this....

SYSTEM:
Windows XP Pro SP2
Limewire 4.12.6 Pro
JAVA 1.5.0.09
(have tried rolling back to 1.4.2 and then back all the way up to 1.5.0.09 with same results)
Solid and steady Cable Connection (tested and verified)
600Gigs HD free Space
2G memory
P4 Dual core 3.0G
Firewall fully configured for my port (Gnutella) and Norton antivirus fully configured for ports and IPs

Limewire can be running alone or with other programs running in background...same results.

I am experienced with Limewire and I am very computer literate.

SCENARIO:
Start Limewire and everything loads perfectly....no issues connecting and all the downloads start (with resonable download speeds)
Downloading andwhere from 3 to 24 files at one time and uploading about 5 or 6.
CPU Usage ranging from 3 to 15% - Also very resonable.
Search speed is TurboCharged
I perform no searches and just let it run.

PROBLEM #1:
After about 10mins to 120miins the download rate will drop ...
They will all drop to about the same download speed 4 to 6 KB/s then 0 KB/s then will relink for a few seconds....continue downloading at a very low speed (1 to 4 KB/s) and then gone and up and .....well, you get the picture.
At the same time the CPU usage will climb to 45% to 60% and Limewire will begin to Lag or Bog Down. Scrolling becomes a very slow process....
The Download speed will never reach the same speeds as when Limewire is first started. and the CPU usage will not drop (My internet connection is not interupted during this time as I monitor it)....The only thing to resolve this is to Shut down limewire and restart which leads into problem #2

PROBLEM #2:
Once LimeWire is shut down I cannot restart it unless I reboot. Limewire, the application itself, will start up but will never make a connection....and I can see Magnet never connects. So Need a reboot.

PROBLEM #3:
Unless I Physically click on Limewire every once in a while to activate the window while it's running in the background it will hang....the grey screen will appear and perhaps only a few items from the original screen will be viewable (like the info bar at the bottom or the download list , but no buttons or menu or seach...etc.)....this does happen often (it will happen for sure after 2 hours of downloading if PROBLEM #1 doesn't happen first)....Limewire will hang...the grey screen appears and clicking the X to close limewire will just cause it to hang in "Shut down Mode" with the little box that Comes up saying that "Limewire is shutting down"....this box doesn't dissappear on its own and limewire will never shut down (gotta use task manager).
....and of course need to reboot again...

....anyone with some suggestions?

Thanks,
Thekman
