The reason I was asking about your connection device is because some/many people don't realise that most routers & some high speed modems have internal NAT firewalls. So if it supports UPnP then enable it within the device's interface GUI after telnetting. Or else forward a port as in port forwarding. :) |
Well we just tried, he is able to download from me, but I can not download from him. I get a message "waiting on busy hosts". |
Try right clicking on the file you are trying to get and select find more sources....:rolleyes_2: |
ihbhogger. Ok tell your friend, In limeWire clik on the Moniter tab, How many uploads do you see. [Make sure L/W is running for at least 20 mins before checking] to give it time to settle in. I only have 30 KBs up using cable, so I put my settings at, Total ups 5 & per person 3. If your friend sets them to high for his connection Big tailbacks happen and L/W will clog. When you reset norton, did the wall in front of the globe go away ? Are you or your friend connecting through a router.Like Lotr says We must have this info. or it could take ages to keep gesing. The more info we have, the easer it is to solve your problem. Oh! Who is your ISP provider ? Look back over thread, answer all the ?s If its possable we will fix it. Peace. |
mickjapa108; Here is some more info: My system: I am using Norton Anti-Virus software and yes I see the globe. I am not using a router. My cable modem is mfg. by Ambit and my service is thru Comcast. I have Norton worm protection configured to permit LW direction in/out any computer/adapter/protocol. My friends system, MacAfee firewall, he sees the globe when the software is on. I have tried downloading from him with and without the MacAfee active, same results. He uses a router, but we took that out of the picture. (I couldn't even see his files with the router) for now the router is NOT being used. His service supplier is Comcast with a Motorola Surfboard modem. Both of use are not using Window's firewall. |
Sorry about the time delay, Im from England. From what you say its looking like your ISP is shaping your P2P usage.:yikes: If you have differant ISP's give both of them a ring and ask directly. Let us know the resolt, a list is being made of good & bad ISP's to help others. Good Luck:Smilywais: Peace. |
