Cannot connet (no firewall enabled)

Answer as many of these questions as you can. We already know that you see a firewall icon & that your test doesn't work when you click on the test link


1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)?
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)?

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.

Well I'll tell ya the truth about what I know for sure.

I got a virus/worm/trojan but removed it with AVG. My connection was perfectly fine until I got infected. After I removed it, I couldn't connect to any game servers, limewire, control panels or that site. The only I can pretty much connect to is MSN. And it says I am blocked by a firewall on limewire, but I think I don't have a firewall. This is the first time I've ever had a problem with connecting to limewire.

I updated by Java: Didn't work.
Cleared out preferences: Didn't work.
Created an Exception in Windows Firewall: Didn't work.

IT IS NOT MY ISP. My roomate can connect fine.

hi guys. i'm really sorry that this has nothing to do with limewire... but i need help and this is the only GOOD forum that would help me. when i try to log onto MSN messenger 7.5 and it says:

Sorry we are unable to sign you into MSN messenger at this time. Please try again later.

I check the site which tells me if MSn is working fine and it was stable so i have no idea why ican't logon to msn.. please help. thanks

did you try to uninstall and re-install?

im about to now. Oh and I forgot to mention.. i can't connect to msn through MSn messenger. but I can''t connect through meebo.

There's a repair funtion that I have used when I get this error...
You need to click on (ahhh I can't remember exactly) but there's an option just below the sign in text...
